The Midland Country Club was founded in 1928 and has maintained standards for excellence throughout its heritage. Alden B. Dow designed the Clubhouse in the late 1920's while he was attending Columbia University's School of Architecture. Although it would be his first architectural design for the city of Midland, it was far from his last. For traditional Midland, the high-art deco look of the Country Club was considered "different", but turned out to be one of the chief influences on much of the modern architecture that came to define Midland.
